Cassius Clay V Henry Cooper in their first fight on June 18, 1963. Near the end of the fourth round at Wembley Stadium, Cooper landed his famous left hook—dubbed “Henry’s Hammer”—which sent Ali crashing backward onto the ropes. Ali got up by the count of four, and the bell immediately rang to end the round. Ali ultimately won the fight by a technical knockout  in the fifth round after the referee stopped the bout due to a severe cut over Cooper’s left eye.
